300
300 is the cinematographic adaptation from a Frank Miller comic named with the same title. Zack Snyder filmed it being very faithful to the original material, making the film with the same compositions of the bullets and illustrations, colours and ideas from Miller causing the viewer the feeling of being in a comic. It was a worldwide phenomenon, a box office hit and the film that made Snyder famous. Besides the great adaptation from the source material, the cast (specially Gerald Butler) and the music are fantastic. The action sequences with the using of slow motion and a ton of blood produce a unique experience. Actually, it is more common to see this style but before 2006 there wasn’t any other film like this (it’s true that Matrix and another action films also use the slow motion technique, but it wasn’t ever used in a film of antique Greece, Romans …). I haven’t read Miller’s comic, so I don’t know if it's a great adaptation or not, but from a film perspective I think it is great, enjoyable and fun. I wish the film explained more about the consequences of the 300 Spartans that fought against Persians or historic context. Also, I think the story has potential to explain more. Overall I really like this film and how it is made.
