The Invisible Man

El hombre invisible (2020) - Filmaffinity
Until now, this film in my opinion is the biggest surprise of the year. I didn’t have any expectations before watching it, I thought it would be the typical film with jump scares and dumb story. Fortunately, this film is really great. First, the interpretation from Elisabeth Moss is Oscar worthing, she’s perfect, very expressive in every scene. The direction, camera moves, photography, and production design are really well-made. Also, the music is great, very suspenseful and tense. But my biggest plus point is the plot, I found it original, modern, powerful and I loved the message behind it, the silenced sexist violence and how our society doesn’t believe the poor women who suffer this violence or how they are treated like crazy people, I found all this very impressive, especially coming from a classic book of literature. Despite all the greatness, the movie has weak points: there are some holes in the plot involving security cameras and a driving scene, the character of Aldis Hodge is wasted. Another issue that I have is the amount of spoilers from the trailers, I just don’t understand it, I know is not related directly with the film but it bothers me. Overall this film is really great, original and necessary to show people how it has to be done a remake from a classic.
