Unforgiven

Sin perdón (1992) - Filmaffinity

In my opinion, this is the best western that has been made since the '60s and a top 5 western of all time. What I love about the film is the new look that Clint Eastwood makes about the genre: here the deaths don’t feel fake, when someone gets killed, that has an impact on the other characters’ behavior, they feel regret and mourn, they have a hard time killing a person (how it is supposed to be). There aren't impossible gun shoots, the music is dramatic and serious, not like the typical western adventure movies... Also, Clint wants to make us think of how our past becomes our future, how difficult is to kill a person and many other questions to wonder about. Moreover, I found it very impressive to achieve all this in a western movie, a genre that has always been an action/adventures films. In addition, the cast is incredible, Gene Hackman's performance is oscar worthing, the dialog is perfect, the montage, the dark cinematography and the filming of the scenes are just flawless. I consider the scene from the bar as one of my favorites ever (If you have seen it, you know which I'm saying). In summary, is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Masterpiece with all the letters.
