The Dreamlife of Angels

| This movie is an example and inspiration for me, Érick Zonca shows how it should be your first movie. It's an inspiration because it is a low budget movie where there's no action or complicated camera moves, it's visually very simple and doesn't try to make something that needs money and even with all that it's great. If you don't have the budget to do your dreaming movie, don't do it because it will look horribly. In your first movie, you have to do what Érick Zonca did: a well-written plot with all the characters motivations justified, a complex character's psychology trying to sympathize with them, a good story with a lot of little details and good narration where we can see our protagonists interact and be what they are. Finally, you need a good actor (and it doesn't mean a famous one). This film is incredible, I love it, it has the potential to be a masterpiece. I felt all the cast were real and human. It doesn't get my highest mark for the technical stuff: the photography is poor and the direction is ok, don't get me wrong, it does look good, despite the low budget. Inspirational movie, great story, fantastic acting especially from Élodie Bouchez and Natacha Régnier. Punctuation: 4/5 |
